New Billing System to start May 1st
The software we use to manage billing and payments is very antiquated and needs to be updated. The bill you receive May 1st will be the last from this office. The June bill be sent from Municipal Operations. You will still be able to pay your bill on line but you will have to set up your payment information again. There are many advantages to the new system and before the end of the month, every resident will receive detailed information about the new system. Plus they have live operators 24/7 to answer questions and help you with your bill. There will be no additional costs to residents. However, during the transition, I am sure there will be a few hick-ups but please be patient. We will get through it and the end result will be a much better and modern system. Look for the door tags handed out to every resident on the 27th of this month.
Flying L PUD Under Review for Superior Water System
The State of Texas qualifies water systems around the state in various categories. Flying L PUD has never been rated before but with the many significant improves the past couple of years, we are ready! The only step remaining is for the TCEQ do an on-site inspection. There are only a few water systems in the State rated as a Superior Water System and hopefully soon, we will be included in this elite group.
Generator Progress
You may have heard about the new Generators, well they are here and operational. The goal of the PUD is to be prepared for any emergancy in order to keep services flowing. Last year we hooked up auto dialers to give us early warnings and now if the power goes out, the generators will keep services going until regular power is restored. Pictured is the large generator at the main water plant, another large generator at the sewer plant and a smaller one off the third tee box servicing a lift station. Generators are actually a condition of our permit which we have never had.

Line Flushing - The PUD Operator is continuing heavy line flushing. This is the single biggest component to maintaining a clean, clear water supply. However, you may still see brown water from time to time. Because there was not a regular flushing program for many years, there is still sediment through out our system. It is much improved, but it takes time. Also, over the past few months, there have been two large mains hit during construction. When this happens, there is a lot of disturbance of the water in the lines, moving sediment around. Extra flushing is done to minimize the affect.
Important If you are having water Quality Problems, Call the PUD. It can be fixed!
New Board Member - Bernie Messier is the newest board member to join the PUD. He just moved into his new home on Flying L Dr. at Creekwood and is a retired master plumber. His background will be a real asset to the PUD.
New Officers - Judd Ryan was elected President. He has been involved at every step in the installation of the generators. Bernie Messier was elected Vice President and Don Bateman was elected Secretary. As a side note, a special Thank You to Don for his years of service as President. It was a challenging time and he navigated it beautifully.

Personal Message from the Admin
As posted, the PUD is looking for a new administrator. However, I will stay invoved and if I can be of service to anyone, please call me personally. However as I build a new home and travel a little more, the community will be better served by someone else handling the day to day activities. We also want to invite any of the residents who wish to be involved to please attend our meetings and volunteer.
I am very excited about the state's review of water system. Being a Superior Water System has been a personal goal for a long time. We are very close. Thank you, Steve Childers.
